63 Englishcombe Lane, Southdown, Bath, Bath and North-East Somerset, BA2 2EE
Note that the consideration of the scheme is generally limited to the proposed solar panels to the rear roof slope.
The proposal site is located within the Bath World Heritage Site(s) and the Bath city-wide conservation area.
The character of buildings in the conservation area and the immediate vicinity of the proposal site, appears to be chiefly defined by dwellings of the first half of the twentieth century immediately to the south of the highway, with dwellings of the latter half of the century behind.
Via drawing 2142-P06A (proposed elevations) the scheme proposes “recessed solar panels set into a new roof finish”, to the principal roof slope to the rear (south) elevation. Subject to design details, the solar panels will not detract from the character and appearance of the conservation area or the outstanding universal value of the World Heritage Site(s).
If the Local Planning Authority permits the scheme, then we recommend that a suitable condition relating to the specific design of the solar panels and any associated infrastructure be attached to the decision notice.
